How to Track Google Rankings by Country, Language and Device

Google rankings depend on location, language, personalization, device and SERP layout. A useful rank tracking setup must make those settings explicit.

Country matters

A website can rank differently in the United States, Czech Republic, Germany or Slovakia. Choose the country where the customer actually searches.

Language matters

The language code should match the query and market. Czech keywords should usually use Czech language settings; English keywords should usually use English settings.

Device matters

Mobile and desktop can show different rankings and SERP features. If budget is limited, start with the device that matters most for the site and add the second device later.

Search depth matters

Tracking to top 30 is enough for many business decisions. Deeper checks can be useful when diagnosing new sites, but positions beyond 100 are rarely meaningful for reporting.

Keep settings stable

Changing country, language or device halfway through a report can make trends misleading. Decide the setup before starting a daily monitoring period.
